What is Art in Motion?
Art in Motion is an interactive center for learning and creativity connecting art, artists and art lovers! Art in Motion is a collaborative effort with the Town & Country Fine Art Center (a non profit organization) located in the Town and Country Shopping Center. The space is intended for artists to do demonstrations, workshops, classes, paint ins and other events that introduce art to the community. While the space can be used for studio space, studio artists must share space or be scheduled into the space.

What are the guidelines for Art in Motion? Art in Motion seeks to be as fair as possible to all artists who want to participate. The following are some general guidelines:

1) If you do something for the space, you get space on the wall. "Doing Something" is defined as a scheduled event on the calendar such demos, paint ins, workshops or simply spending time keeping Art in Motion open each month. Essentially you must be on the calendar and working in the space. This guideline supports the purpose of the space which is to allow the Kettering community to observe, participate and learn from the artists. We are striving not to let this become just studio space. If you plan to be on the calendar, you must email or call Jacquelynn Buck no later than the 15th of each month.

2) Art in Motion has available workshop, demo and class space in the back. This space and the tables there are for workshops and classes.

3) Art in Motion is NOT responsible for the theft or damage that may occur to anything (art, materials, personal items) left in the space. The back door must be kept closed and locked at ALL times. You must pull this door securely behind you for it to shut completely. This door self locks and a key is available for the back and front door at the town and country fine art center during business hours. this is for your safety and the safety of others.

4) Artists cannot sell anything directly from the Art in Motion space. Any art sales must go through the Town and Country Fine Art Center. If you are not a member of the center, the center will receive a 30% commission for handling the sale. This guideline is not negotiable. It is in violation with our contract with the shopping center to sell work from the Art in Motion space.

5) Visting Artists may be scheduled at Art in Motion for a period of 4-10 days. As a visting artist you are entitled to the upper level and window space for the time of your show. Each visiting artist must have a reception, spend time keeping the space open and be on the calendar.

What are some of the events? An "open paint" session is a chance for artists to come and paint in an energy-filled environment and for community members to come and watch and learn from the artists painting. An artists' coffee or get together is a chance to come out and meet the artists in a casual and fun atmosphere.
