This was a “lifestyle” session with four week old baby Kiedis and mom (Tabs) and dad (Kyle).
The point of this kind of session is to tell a story with unposed pictures – a story about the day to day life with baby: the good (mommy time) the not so good (laundry still needs to get folded) and the everything in-between. Then, years later, mom and dad can look back and remember the real moments.
This session was so much fun for me – felt more like hanging with friends than work. Love when that happens! Tabs is awesome – she’s got a great sense of humor and a witty, slightly sarcastic outlook on life (I can totally relate). I had the pleasure of photographing her shortly before she gave birth (see http://jacquelynnbuckportraits.blogspot.com/2009/02/tabatha.html) Now, less than two months later, Kiedis is here and I’m back!
All of these photos were taken at their house, which is a work in progress with some really cool design elements and colors- thanks to Tabs’ creativity and Kyle’s help, I’m sure. But the only light I used was their amazing natural light from large picture windows – wow! I think I brought the studio light out for maybe three pics, but didn’t like it as much! So enjoy a day in the life!
