It’s no secret that I love a n early Morning Tucson Desert photo session! This family was no exception! It turns out, in the fall, a morning Tucson desert photo session starts late enough that it’s not too early, but early enough that the sun hadn’t yet peeked over the mountains. What that means is we had a full hour of uninterrupted perfect shade and a 360 degree view. Perfection!
I have about 30% of my clients who love getting up for mornings. Mornings are much quieter this time of year (fall) and that’s part of why I love them! It’s so much easier to photograph safely when there are less people around (because of Covid) but also in general, even without Covid, there is a quiet that comes over the desert in the morning, a hush that feels like meditation, and I love being out and about before most people are even out of bed.
Getting up for a morning Tucson desert photo session is much, much harder in the summer as you can imagine, as the sun rises almost as early as 5am. But the same quiet steals over the desert and creates this perfect moment, before the sun rises, when the heat is still at bay and the temperature is, well, tolerable. Of course fall is a much better time for a morning Tucson desert photo session because it means a later start time since the sun rises later, but it also means a cooler temperature, which can be off-putting to people who really don’t like the cold (which is why they moved to Tucson in the first place!). But I am from PA, so I have some tolerance for cold still. But I am definitely going to bundle up more than I would have before!
Here are a few more of my favorite morning sessions!
