{the workshop why: why me? why this? why now?}:
Some photographers photograph. Some photographers teach. I do both. I own and operate my own boutique home-based wedding and portrait studio.
I regularly mentor individual students.
I’ve instructed small group workshops for photography clubs. I taught a master’s class last year at WPPI on my Real Women sessions. I’m teaching there again this year. I taught at a photography conference in Prague in November. I’ve done these workshops in NC and GA.
But those aren’t reasons enough, for you.
You maybe don’t care about the credentials or the resume. What you care about is: if you take this workshop, what practical things will you walk away with
that you can apply today to your shooting and style? And can those changes maybe be the thing that sends you further, faster, in the direction of your dreams?
I say yes.

This exciting and energetic workshop is a chance for you to gain hands-on experience in a small group setting with a devoted and inspirational instructor (that’s me!).
We’ll work with light and shadow. I’ll offer practical instruction and image critique. I’ll demonstrate what I do and how I do it. And I’ll answer any questions you have. I’m pretty much yours for two days! The focus will be on lighting that you can use with any subject.

You will, absolutely, walk away with at least one lighting technique that you can implement into your shooting routine right away.

Whether you’re just starting out in your craft, or you’re a seasoned professional looking to be re-inspired, this workshop is the place to be.

{About me}:
I teach because without someone who was willing to teach me, I would not be where I am today. And to give that gift to someone else, to be able to help
define the journey, point you towards the endless possibilities that await, is ah-MAY-zing for me. I am a teacher at my core. I have always wanted to help change
lives. And now, with my twin goals of photography and teaching, I’ve begun to do just that. One of my favorite quotes,
“a candle loses nothing by lighting another candle,” works for me every time. And it will work for you. You will walk away from
this workshop inspired to do at least one thing that will change the way that you shoot. And might just change everything as a result.

I’ll leave you with this: I live today and every day by this question “what would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?”
Do you know your answer? If so, I ask, what are you waiting for? Why live knowing that a year from now you’ll wish you had started today.
Start today.

{Testimonials}:

“This workshop was what I needed.  I am already comfortable with many of the technical aspects of photography, but posing subjects, giving direction to make them look their best, and use of available light to my advantage was what I was lacking.  This workshop and the way it was set up helped me improve on all of those things and more!  Jacquelynn has such a friendly and open style of teaching that it made it all the easier.” (Anon, NC)

“I have been meaning to email you, I took your master class at WPPI on boudoir. I wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed hearing you speak, especially from someone that wasn’t directly schooled in photography.  I too went to graduate school, and happen to be a lawyer with an MBA.  So, I went to lots of school…but being disheartened by the corporate world, I now feel like I have found my calling….and can’t wait until the day I am doing photography full time!
Anyway, this email was to thank you for the class – but also to thank you specifically for the card you included in your gift bag. It really hit me, I mean, I read business books, and career books, and all that stuff – but for some reason, sitting in that class, and thinking about what I would do if I could not fail was finally resonating with me….so I came home, hung your card up at my office desk, and I look at it several times a day.  It is what keeps me going and is helping me make decisions….anyway, thanks for the card – it was a nice touch and I thought you should know that your words, and your card have impacted someone’s life! ” (KK, Boston)
“I attended your class at WPPI and want you to know how much I loved it!  I learned so much and just love your work.  Also, you did such a great job of presenting.  Thank you for a wonderful and inspirational session!” (JT, WPPI)
“I just would like to say thank you for an excellent day spent at your workshop (in Prague). It was very interesting and inspiring for me.” (AH Prague)”I just wanted to send you a quick note that is long overdue. I just wanted to thank you again for your wonderful class at WPPI last year. You are a great teacher and I know you will continue to do great things. I really took to heart the things you said about believing in yourself and chasing the dream. I’ve had a lot of great things come up recently for my business …and I truly owe a lot of my success to you and your inspirational workshop at WPPI.” (AS, Delaware)
