Crisp. Cool. Crackle. Snuggle. Sip. Sigh.
These are the sounds of the season – autumn. And despite the still balmy tropical weather we’re having here in Georgia, there have been days – fleeting days – where it’s almost cool enough to drink coffee on the back porch in the mornings and not break into a sweat, or bask in the sun in the afternoons and not burn from the outside in. And so in preparation for fall, which has likely arrived everywhere except maybe Georgia, Florida and Texas, I’ve been lured into purchasing a new quilt from Pottery Barn – a lovely fall shade of russet meets wine, just a bit thicker than the summer weight one we’re using now. I can’t wait to sleep with the windows wide open, burrowed deep under cover, abed and still toasty warm.
