I love when my Tucson family photos happen in the desert. I feel like the Tucson desert is one of the more beautiful locations for family photos and sunset is the perfect time of day. I love how the saguaro cactus light up against the sky in the Tucson desert at sunset. And I love when families coordinate colors for their family session clothing. When families ask me for clothing tips for family photos I always tell them to start with colors they look great in. I think the S family did a fantastic job with their blues.
I also encourage other family members to come along to family portrait sessions. In the case of the S family, Grandmom was in town visiting and so I built her into a few photos with her grandkids. I also did a three generations picture of mom, Grandmom and the kiddo. I love generations photos, especially when the girls are as gorgeous as these three were!
Here are a few other of my favorite Tucson family photos from the desert. One was a spring session, when everything is in full bloom and one is from last fall. Both were at sunset – my favorite time of day for Tucson family photos!

Also, such a small world, I found out that Grandmom from this Tucson family photos session was from Macon, GA, which happens to be where my grandfather went to college (at Mercer University). So we reminisced a little about Macon. If you ever get a chance to visit, you should. It’s a beautiful southern Georgia town! Go when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom!
