Tori Senior Pictures {the dramatic light}

I mentioned in my previous post about Tori’s high school senior pictures that I love mixing lighting styles when I photograph senior pictures. Of course I love the soft, natural light look – it’s dreamy and really romantic. But when the clouds show up, I can’t help but want to show them off with my Profoto lighting to create some stunning and epic images. And I look for locations that really allow for that. The sky shows up in almost all of the photos below and that treeeeeee. OMG that tree. Right?

Even though I love clouds, clouds mean rain. And while the weather didn’t fully cooperate for these high school senior pictures, it did rain in the end. But when it rains, it’s just another reason to get creative with lighting. With some creatively placed backlight I was able to capture the rain in the photos, which makes for something extra special.
